Velocity Time Graphs
- Gradient = Acceleration
- Flat Section = Steady Speed
- Steeper = the greater the acceleration
- Uphill = acceleration; Downhill = deceleration
- Area underneath a section = distance travelled
- Curve = changing acceleration
Distance Time Graphs
- Gradient = constant speed
- Flat sections = stopped
- Steeper = faster
- Downhill = back towards its starting point
- Curves = acceleration or deceleration / change in speed
NB - if stuck and can't remember these rules then use your knowledge of speed = distance/time to work out what you can from the graph. Think!
