3.24 describe the advantages of using digital signals rather than analogue signals

Analogue
Digital
Analogue signals pick up interference which means the quality is reduced and noise is increased
A digital signal is clearly on or off so the signal remains high quality
Signals of similar frequency cannot be sent along the same wire due to the interference.
Digital signals can easily be sent along the same wire (multiplexing).
Quantisation* loses a lot of information when practiced on analogue signals.
Quantisation loses very little information with digital signals.
